“The Brokerage Business module was highly insightful greatly expanded my understanding of Ethiopia’s capital market, the roles of ECMA and ESX as an SRO, and the use of AI-driven surveillance alongside conventional systems. I especially appreciated how brokers evolve from order executors to trusted advisors, supported by technology like robo-advisors and automated trade analytics. The breakdown of front, middle, and back offices was very clear. Thank you, ESX, for this free training. Suggestion: please offer more practical workshops and hands-on access to platforms like the Neway Trading Platform.” and "Introduction to Institutional Investors and Fund Managers module clearly explains how institutional investors such as pension funds, insurance companies, and asset managers are essential for deepening Ethiopia’s capital market. Unlike retail investors, institutions bring large-scale, long-term capital, improve market liquidity, and promote price stability. Fund managers act as fiduciaries, professionally allocating assets while managing risk and complying with ECMA rules. In Ethiopia’s emerging market, attracting institutional participation will require trust, transparency, and robust custody and settlement systems. A key takeaway: developing local institutional investor capacity is just as important as listing companies. Thank you, ESX, for this valuable training."

This course provides a high-caliber, practical synthesis of the technical and ethical dimensions required to navigate the emerging Ethiopian capital market. By seamlessly bridging the gap between rigorous quantitative portfolio metrics such as the Sharpe Ratio and Alpha and the specific regulatory mandates of ECMA Proclamation 1248/2021 and the ESX Rulebook, it equips professionals with a robust framework for both operational excellence and fiduciary responsibility.
